WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting (Diploma)
The wine has a clear medium + intense lemon colour with golden reflexes.
The mousse has small bubbles of medium persistence.
Aromas is clean and of pronounced intensity. Developing characteristics of dried stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, ripe lemon, lead pencil and floral aromas of acacia. Deep but elegant autolytic nuances of newly baked brioche and butter. A subtle, smokey minerality in the back.
A dry wine with high acidity and a creamy mousse.
The alcohol level is medium and the body is full.
A pronounced flavour of mixed dried fruits, (mostly Peach) ripe lemon, yellow apple (baked) and floral notes in the back. Heavy and complex full autolytic spectra of flavours.
The wine has a long complex finish with obvious minerality and practically no bitterness at all.
In conclusion the wine is of excellent quality. Due to an massive body and flavour intensity with a complex aromatic spectra, ranging from fresh fruit, dried fruits, flowers, minerality and impressive autolysis. It’s fascinating how a wine this concentrated still can feel elegant and still can show a lively fresh acidity. One of the best Champagnes I ever tested!
The wine is ready to drink, but can easily develop for a minimum of 20 Years.
